A Career in Montessori Early Childhood Practice

As a Montessori early childhood practitioner, you will be responsible for creating a prepared environment that promotes exploration and learning through hands-on activities and play. You will work with children aged 0-6 years old and use the Montessori philosophy and approach to help them develop their cognitive, social, emotional, and physical skills.

Your duties may include planning and delivering Montessori-inspired activities, observing and assessing children's progress, communicating with parents and colleagues, and ensuring the safety and wellbeing of the children.

To work as a Montessori early childhood practitioner in the UK, you will need to hold a relevant qualification, such as a Montessori Diploma in Early Childhood Education.

Working in Montessori early childhood education can be a fulfilling career, as you will have the opportunity to work with young children in an environment that encourages their natural curiosity and love of learning. However, it can also be demanding and requires patience, creativity, and a deep understanding of the Montessori philosophy and approach.

Here at NCCE we offer two qualifications that ensure you have the relevant training as a Montessori Practitioner as well as becoming a fully recognised Early Years Educator as required by the government.

  • CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Montessori Pedagogy (Early Years Educator)
  • CACHE Level 4 Diploma in Montessori Pedagogy (Early Years Educator)

NCCE also offer opportunities to specialise or develop your own CPD, including our Montessori Philosophy course, which offers a fantastic introduction to working as a Montessori practitioner.

Learners on our Montessori early years courses will have access to our digital learning resources, including on-demand interactive learning, taught online sessions, and a library of webinars to aid continued CPD in Early Childhood Education. All of our full and relevant licence to practice qualifications include observations of your practice in the workplace by a qualified NCCE Assessor.
