NCCE are delighted to launch our level 6 programme for designed especially for early years professionals and educators. Our level 6 qualification has been robustly checked by subject experts at NCFE CACHE, who have supported NCCE in the development of the learning outcomes for this programme. If you are looking for the next step in your early years training, this course will nurture your skills in innovation, change, and sustainability of practice within the early years sector. 

Qualification Title: Level 6 Diploma in Applied Innovative Practice in the Early Years

Qualification Level: Level 6 

Total Qualification Time: 400 hours plus research assessment 

Average Enrolment Period: 12 months

Accreditation: This qualification has been accredited by NCFE CACHE

Entry Requirements: A Level 5 qualification in early years, or a Level 3 qualification in early years with leadership experience. You will need to be working in the setting to carry out your innovation project.  



This qualification is ideal for experienced practitioners who are looking to gain the knowledge and skills to carry out relevant research to promote positive change and innovation within the Early Years Sector. This qualification has been accredited to demonstrate skills and knowledge at level 6 and is ideal for those wishing to look for a progression route from their level 5 qualification or for those who are looking to gain research skills and experience at level 6 before applying for Early Years and Education degrees and top-up degrees. Universities will set their own entry requirements and completion of this accredited qualification holds no guarantee for acceptance.    




Our qualification has been developed to meet the specific needs of our learners and has been accredited by NCFE demonstrating the quality and rigour.
 
NCFE is an awarding organisation recognised by the qualification regulators for England (Ofqual), Wales (Qualifications Wales) and Northern Ireland (CCEA Regulation). This is an unregulated qualification and is not a nationally recognised qualification. This qualification has been accredited as a Customised Qualification and we have benchmarked the qualification’s learning outcomes and assessment criteria at Level (using a national framework’s level descriptors) to allow you to demonstrate the difficulty and depth of study. On completion of the Customised Qualification, learners will receive a certificate of achievement. The certificate is evidence of the knowledge and skills gained by completing the qualification. This qualification has been accredited by NCFE under the Customised Qualification and the certificate of achievement will be issued directly by NCFE.

LO3: Understands philosophical paradigms in educational research
LO4: Understand Research Methods and Methodology in Early Years and Education
LO5: Understand Ethics in Educational Research
LO6: Understand statutory requirements in the Early Years Sector
LO7: Understand Innovation and Quality Improvement Strategies


Assessed Innovative Project within the Early Years Setting:

LO1: Be able to identity an area for quality improvement research in own setting and practice.
LO2: Be able to plan for innovative research in own setting and practice
LO3: Be able to gather evidence and data within own setting
LO4: Be able to interpret evidence and data, making appropriate recommendations for practice
LO5 Evaluates own Practice or Setting
LO6 Plan for Quality Improvements

This course is suitable to support practitioners in their continued professional development within the early years. 

You will develop skills in change management and innovation that can be used to support and develop your career in leadership within education and early years. 

Additionally, you will develop strong academic skills at level 6 and complete a innovation project along with a portfolio of education research skills. Your portfolio and final project can be used to showcase your skills when applying for academic studies such as university degrees.
