Course Title: Access to Higher Education Diploma in Education

Awarding Organisation: Open Awards and QAA (The Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education)

Access Credits: 60 credits, of which 45 are graded at Referred, Pass, Merit, or Distinction

Entry Requirements: Maths and English at Level 2 or above, or willingness to enrol on a level 2 Maths and English programmes (with us or another institution)

Limitations: This course is only available to learners in England

Course Length: The course is spread across one academic year, you can start learning at any month of the year. The Awarding Board and results are released twice per year

ACADEMIC PAUSE - GRADING
-
This Access to Higher Education Diploma in Education is an excellent start point if you have an interest in attending university to train as a teacher, train in special educational needs, early years, or other educational based degree qualifications. This course also provides you with the learning and skills to begin to work as a teaching assistant in schools, or even take a step to working as a vocational teacher, trainer, or assessor in colleges or private training providers. 

All our Access to Higher Education Diplomas are studied remotely and online, so you can study flexibly around your life. The course is structured and with 'face to face' tutor support, just like being in a college. 

This qualification contains a range of carefully selected modules, covering Safeguarding, inclusive practice, teaching skills, English Language and Literature, and learning theories. In addition, you will have the opportunity to prepare for your applications for university and an understanding of professional values, roles, and relationships within the sector. A special feature of our Access to Higher Education Diploma in Education is that you complete two practical teaching sessions with a small group, to prepare you to practice teaching and for your teacher training applications- these will be completed online. 

When studying with NCCE, you will be provided with a structured learning plan to follow. You will have access to taught sessions, 121 sessions with your tutor, interactive learning resources, and swift marking turnaround times of 3-5 days. 


Upon completion of this qualification, with minimum grades at merit and distinction, you can apply for a range of professional training degrees in nursing and Midwifery.
