Within this course, learners will have the opportunity to gain an understanding of the key components of early reading development, including looking at methods of phonics teaching. The focus on phonics will be on synthetic phonics, but other methods will be explored. Learners will also look at a range of strategies that they can use to support the development of emergent literacy within their own setting.
