Within this Development Course, Schemas in the Early Years, you will have the opportunity to gain a background introductory understanding into what schemas are and how these can be seen within your practice with children. You will then be introduced to the more detailed theory and pedagogy that surrounds schema and schema based play and learning, with a look into Piaget, Neuroscience, block play, and other perspectives.
After looking at the role of the practitioner to enable and promote schemas in the early years setting, you will look at the following schemas in more detail, taking into consideration their purpose, what it looks like, and creating an enabling environment for each schema:

Schema: Rotation
Schema: Enclosing
Schema: Enveloping
Schema: Transporting
At the end of your learning, you will be invited to take an assessment quiz to test your knowledge and understanding. Upon successful completion, you will be awarded a certificate of completion, demonstrating your new understanding and professional development.
