This qualification is suitable for a range of learners either working or wishing to work in early years education and care. Please note: this qualification is a qualification in its own right, but does not lead to full Early Years Educator status on its own. If you complete this course, you may move on to the Early Years Diploma with us if you wish, and you will have completed 15% progress of that course. The Level 3 Award in Childcare and Education prepares learners to progress to the Level 3 Certificate in Childcare and Education and then on to the Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education (Early Years Educator). It provides learners with knowledge of children from birth to 7 years. The qualification does not require a placement. This award in Childcare and Education course is broken into 5 4-week blocks, as follows. Blocks are independent from one another, and your starting "block" will vary depending upon when you enrol with the college. Block 1: Child Development from Conception to age 7: Stages and Theory of Child Development. Block 2: Promoting Child Development through Learning and Play Block 3: Supporting Children's Emotional Well-being Block 4: Physical Care Needs and the Early Years Environment Block 5: Nutrition, Diet and Physical Activity Upon achievement of this qualification, you will be able to progress onto the NCFE CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Early Years Workforce (Early Years Educator), allowing for 15% of that course's progression having already been achieved. |
