The enrolment period is 12-18 months. Suitable for those in full or part time learning or employment, it develops the wide-ranging knowledge and skills needed when working with children and young people from birth up to 19 years. It covers a diverse range of job roles and occupational areas - including those in social care settings and offers a wealth of career opportunities. On completion learners will be able to work unsupervised with children and young people. Learners will need to be working, volunteering or on practical placement as they will need to show competence in both knowledge and skills. You will need to log 350 hours within a relevant setting in the community, residential settings or other childcare settings. If you are unsure about a setting, please contact us. This course is broken down into 7 blocks, each which can be completed in 6 weeks to total 42 weeks. You will also need to spend time in a placement setting.
